Segovia Royal Palaces and Gardens

This one-day journey  offers the chance to visit two interesting sites of the Spanish Royal House. They are strategically situated among lush forests, and very close to the highest mountains of the Sierra de Guadarrama. The combination of woods, magnificent baroque style palaces from 18th century and large gardens makes for a great single-day bike trip.

Used as a hunting spot for the Royal House, the Palace of Riofrío was inspired by the Italian style. The Palace of La Granja de San Ildefonso, where remains of king Philip V and his wife are placed, is almost a copy of Versailles. In fact, its impressive gardens were designed by the same landscape architect, André Le Nôtre. Its location between the forests of Valsaín and just beside the highest peak of the Sierra of Guadarrama is simply unbeatable.

Also you´ll have the chance to ride by ancient villages and among pine woods, and to finish our trip we will ride on a bike lane that will take us back to Segovia in front of its unique Aqueduct.
